Jenèa Maitrī’s Bio:
Mom and Behavioral Scientist, with a Minor in Counseling, I became a certified Doula and transitioned to Birth work in 2016 and now work as a full time birth worker. I bring my skills in behavioral science, body and energy work, and seasoned experience attending births in hospitals and homes, to guide life transition journeys in a way that feels grounded, individualized, and sacred.
My skills and education support my clients, and their families, in making heartfelt, educated, science backed choices they can feel confident about. I have attended more than 100 births in the Reno-Carson-Tahoe area and have meaningful professional working relationships with the doctors, nurses, and midwifery teams. I work diligently to push education on cutting edge scientific studies that support the individual wellness needs and preferences of all birthing people. I advocate for my clients in tough situations, but with respect and diplomacy that helps build a better environment for all parents in our community.
Jenèa Maitrī’s Birth Philosophy:
Informed consent is key. Individualized emotional , spiritual, and educational supports can not be provided by even the most effective medical staff, it is simply outside of their scope. A birth Doula is an integral and irreplaceable part of the birth team. All births need a guide who has seen the various possibilities of birth, is devoted to continuing education, and can help emotionally and physically guide the birthing one though this life transition, while making the process mentally accessible to all individuals and families.

What is a postpartum Doula?
Just as a Birth Doula assists with education, expectations, and emotional support, a Postpartum Doula is the same, but with hands on help at home after baby is born. There are many ways to utilize a Postpartum Doula, schedule a consult to discuss your needs and preferences. As your postpartum doula, my goal is to help you feel supported and empowered to take care of your newborn baby (babies) and yourself in the early weeks after birth, right in your own home. I am passionate about providing unbiased support for breastfeeding, caring for your newborn baby, helping you get some sleep, and even helping older siblings transition better into their new role.
I believe that families are empowered by education and support. And that doesn’t stop at birth.
My goal as your postpartum doula is to help families fully recover from pregnancy and childbirth, learn how to trust their parental instincts, and move forward with confidence and joy.
Price is $38 per hour for days, and $40 per hour for nights. Overnight shifts available for 8 to 12 hours. Daytime shifts available from 3 to 8 hours.

Bio: Previously a Special Educator, with a Minor in Counseling, I became a certified Doula and transitioned to Birth work in 2016 and now work as a full time birth worker. I bring my skills in education, and expertise with children with me, along with my long time passion for Yoga, including Somatic Healing, energy work, meditation, and modified flow. (I hold certifications in Yoga, Meditation, & Somatic Healing as well). Each of my skills lend well to supporting my clients in making heartfelt, educated, science backed choices they can feel confident about. My job is to foster an environment of safety and belonging, so you can follow your heart in a grounded and sacred way.

Using meditation, Somatic healing, trauma informed communication, and as a certified SEL (Social Emotional Learning) Practitioner, and my accredited training in counseling from the University of Nevada, Reno, we can get to the root of your issue.

This service works well in addition to any therapeutic services you may already be receiving. However, this is not a replacement for clinical services. Sessions will be 45-55 minutes. You can participate from anywhere via Zoom.

Welcome to “I Rise”! I am so excited to get to know you, here is a little about me: I have been practicing The Yoga Sutras Of Patanjali since 2014. During that time I obtained a Dual Bachelor’s degree in General & Special Education from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Minor in Counseling, specializing in addiction prevention and treatment. During my formal schooling I learned a great deal about behavioral science, how the mind works, and most importantly: what holds us back, what makes us thrive, and how do we bridge the gap for those who yearn to rise.
During this time I was also blessed with a child, and got to experience the true birth of an individual. I didn’t know it then, but my schooling offered me a solid foundation in trusting and guiding this bright soul. I was driven to seek out as much as I could in the area of conception and birth of a new being. Through this journey, I became a Birth Doula. I was able to see new ways of teaching my clients how to find and honor their unique emotional and physical needs.
I find the 8 Limbs of Yoga to be valuable tools in unearthing what makes us feel whole, valued, and joyous. So I took the plunge and obtained my Meditation cert from Yogamu, and Yoga certification along with a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program development and facilitator certification from Breath for Change!
At 39 years young, I could deeply feel how my education had truly come full circle, but it was just the beginning. It warms my heart to see how everything is connected. How we raise our children, how we were raised as children, and how we raise ourselves even further. Now, I seek to connect with individuals, and learn their unique lives and perspectives, to broaden my understanding of the human experience, expanding my toolbox for personal grounding and expansion.
You may know me from MeetUp! I have hosted MeetUps since 2014. I love watching people find their “Tribe”, build support systems, and find their own unique way to thrive. I love working with a diverse population! People are like library books, and diversity is incredibly interesting and beautiful. I also use the meetup platform to share my classes and services.
